Attending a new church can be intimidating, so we want to help put you at ease! Below are a few common questions about who we are. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any other questions or visit the connection center on your first visit!
What does 'Missio' mean?
Missio comes from the historic Latin phrase Missio Dei meaning Mission of God. The idea being that the church is the people of God which exists for the glory of God (Gloria Dei), participating in the mission of God (Missio Dei), giving every man, woman, and child made in the image of God (Imago Dei) repeated opportunities to see, hear, and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What can I expect on a Sunday morning?
Our service starts at 10:00am. We worship God together every week through the teaching of God’s Word, corporate singing and prayer, and the celebration of communion.
What about kids?
MissioKids provides a safe, welcoming environment for children at Missio Church during our worship services. Our desire is to do more than just childcare- we want to partner with parents as they seek to raise their children. We believe that God longs for every child to have a repeated opportunity to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel. We want to help kids love Jesus, represent Jesus, and live with the gospel at the center of their lives.
We take security seriously. Each child must be registered before entering our MissioKids area and parents must have proof of registration in order to pick them up after each service. If you ever have any questions, our staff members or any of our volunteers would love to assist you. More about MissioKids.
Where are you located?
We are located at 620 W Genesee St Syracuse, NY 13204. Directions here.
What happens outside of Sunday morning?
Since we believe that life change occurs best in the context of relationships centered on Jesus Christ, our Missional Communities are hosted all over the county. These MC's provide a valuable environment centered around the truth of the Bible, love for Christ, and love for one another. Through MC's, we strive to live together on mission for the glory of God.
Additionally, you can get involved with various local outreach opportunities, join an intimate formation group, or consider serving at Missio.
We believe church is composed of all of Christ's people and is not just what happens on Sunday morning.
