A Generous Life

Generosity is an openhandedness, unselfishness, or liberality of life. Christ’s followers are consistently called to generosity. This generous existence is to be lived in response to and rooted in God’s own self-giving in the person of Jesus who “though he was rich, yet for our sake became poor, so that by his poverty we might become rich.” Our prayer is that the Lord will not only create a greater desire in us to meet needs out of our abundance but that such desire would actually lead us “to be rich in good works, to be generous, and ready to share” so that our God would be glorified in our great city and in this world.

Advent Through Isaiah's Eyes

The Advent season is a time of year when the church has historically focused on the coming of Jesus Christ in flesh as a child. Certainly this merits our attention, joy, and praise but as a Church we often fail to look at what Christ ultimately secured for His people in that coming. Our current state, here and now, is not the fullness of His work. Advent means coming or arrival and it is a time to not only celebrate His 1st coming but to anticipate and celebrate His coming again. This advent we will look at the expectation that Isaiah had as God revealed what Christ’s coming would mean for the world. Our prayer is that we all live in great anticipation of His arrival as we explore Advent Through Isaiah’s Eyes.
