What is the Gospel?
The answer to that question is something most Christians assume. Yet because of it’s centrality to all of life, we must make sure we have a firm grasp on this biblical message. In this four-part series we will explore the Scriptures and find a very clear answer to the question, What is the Gospel?

Advent | Great Expectation
The Advent season is a time of year when the church has historically focused on the coming of Jesus Christ in flesh as a child. Certainly this merits our attention, joy, and praise but as a Church we often fail to look at what Christ ultimately secured for his people in that coming. Our current state, here and now, is not the fullness of his work. Advent means coming or arrival and it is a time to not only celebrate his 1st coming but anticipate and celebrate his coming again. This advent we will look at the expectation that should surround Christ’s 2nd coming and explore the implications of his 2nd advent. Our prayer is that we all live in great expectation of his arrival.

Revelation 20:7-15 | Great Expectation

Exodus | Redeemed for Worship
Exodus begins by showing that God has begun to fulfill his promise to Abram in Genesis 12 which promises to make him a great nation. The trouble is that this great nation is in a foreign land under a harsh tyrant. God hears the cry of His people and miraculously redeems his people from slavery in Egypt. After calling them out of bondage, he gives them both His law and instruction regarding His dwelling place, the tabernacle. Essentially, God gives them guidance on how to live and respond in worship in the presence of the One who has redeemed them. We pray that as we journey through Exodus we will together find great joy in the God who is at work redeeming a people for himself and respond with faithful lives worship.

True Religion
Distractions in life are seemingly endless. These distractions often make it difficult to keep the main thing the main thing. Yet when it comes to what God has revealed to us we cannot afford to get sidetracked. We need to be reminded frequently of what Christianity is all about and we need to keep our eyes fixed on the substance of the faith. This series will center our attention on some of the things God has revealed as priorities: justification by faith alone, the growth of God’s people in grace, the spread of good news, and care for the unprotected and marginalized. This series will focus our eyes on True Religion as God has revealed it.
